This year was not my siblings year to be at my parents house for Thanksgiving. Ammon's family never does anything... well they don't invite us so we just had Thanksgiving with my parents and Grandpa Ashby. It was good to have more people there for my Grandpa since it has only been a month and a half since my Grandma died and it was his first Thanksgiving without her. We got to my moms around 12 I guess and we ate our Thanksgiving meal a little after 1:00. It was yummy... turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, yummy rolls, and more. I never used to eat anything for Thanksgiving except for the pie but now I love it more and more each year!
Kael tried Turkey for the first time. It was in the baby food can and he did not like it. I don't blame him though. Our turkey was much better. I should have put some in a blender but there were lots of other thing for him to try. We gave him sweet potatoes. He has already had those but he loves them and we had them too. We gave him some of our mashed potatoes mixed with a little gravy. He liked that a lot too. Later on when we had pies, I gave hims some of my favorite pie. Pumpkin pie. It had a lot of nutmeg/other spices but he actually liked it.
After we ate our meal we went to a 3:00 showing of the moving Tangled. It is a Disney movie about Rapunzel. It was really cute! Kael really like it. He has been doing to good in movies. We saw Megamind and Despicable Me too and for all of the movies he was good. He would watch a little of the movie, then fall asleep then wake up and watch more. He is simply an angel sometimes. It makes movies pleasant. We have only taken him to animated movies. I don't think other movies would have his attention at all. Plus I would feel guilty making him sit there and watch one of our movies.
After the movie we just hung out at my moms with my Grandpa, looking through Black Friday Ads. I actually love to go Black Friday shopping and for the past five years I have gone. But it is different with Kael. Shopping with a tired baby would not be good. Plus I had no idea what would be worth getting up super early to get.
Later that night Kylie and Jake came over and we all watched Holes. My Grandpa had never seen it but heard of it. I though he might have read the book but no. He actually really enjoyed it. And said it is a little confusing but with us explaining things to him, it made sense and he liked it.
My Grandpa spent the night and we went home to sleep. We let Kael sleep in and then we got ready and went to my moms, picked up my Grandpa and then went to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1. Kael didn't go. My mom and sisters watched him. Josh and Jandi met us there. I sat by my Grandpa and he laughed a lot. (at the funny parts) He really liked it. I really like it too. Now we need to see the next one! Part 2 in the summer!
After the movie, Ammon and I went shopping and actually got a lot of things for everyone in our family. Birthday and Christmas presents. Then We watched the Jazz vs Lakers game. Jaime and Cole went to the game and we watched it at my moms. The Jazz won and we were very excited! :D
Saturday was the BYU UTAH football game and people were at my parents watching it. I don't really care much for football but I would rather see BYU win than UTAH. But BYU didn't end up winning! We brought Kael out and the kids all played in the snow with a sled Ammon and I bought! Sydney would hold Kael and Ammon would pull them. Kael didn't have much of a reaction. Then Ashby and Grady came out and we piled all of them on the sled. It was so funny because Ashby would just fall down in a laying position onto Grady and Grady would about touch the ground. They loved playing on the sled and I think Ammon enjoyed playing with them. Kael got back on and it went on a corner and some snow got in the sled and he whined a little so I brought him in and warmed him up! We had a good Thanksgiving weekend!
