Kael has mastered rolling over both from his tummy to his back and from his back to his tummy! He has been rolling over from tummy to back for a while but he struggled with back to tummy. He would almost get it and then his leg would just be in the way. Well one night I put him to bed on his back and went to check in on him later that night while Ammon was still at work and he was on his tummy! I was so freaked out! I had never seen him roll onto his tummy.. plus the whole SIDS thing scares me. I carefully put him on his back again and I think he stayed that way the rest of the night. Then the next night it happened again. I moved him back and left and went back in and he was on his tummy again. He was awake and was smiling and thinking something was funny. Then I moved him back onto his back and decided to watch to see how he does it so quickly when I had never seen him roll onto his tummy before. I watched in the corner where he could not see me and he used his mirror toy that is attached to his crib to help pull him over. I decided to let him sleep on his tummy until Ammon got home from work. He moved to his tummy every time we would move him to his back. He would be asleep and somehow flip over while still being asleep. Those first few nights that he slept like this I got no sleep! I was so worried because his face always looked like it was laying flat in the mattress. I talked to Jandi about how Ashby slept like this and I began to feel better about it. It seemed to help him sleep. He could roll over and move however he wanted. If he got uncomfortable, he could move. He started rolling over during the day while playing too. He loved his new way of moving! He would roll and roll and roll to get places and to get into things. Up next... Crawling!
