What a crazy day/night! This exciting day started out on April 30th 2010 and now it is May 1st and just after 1:10 am. Yesterday Katie graduated with her bachelors in elementary education so we woke up at 5:40 am. After the graduation we went to Katie's Grandparents home and had breakfast and this was about 10:00 am. Then we went to Cabelas in Lehi, that was mine and Katie's first time. Then we went home and Katie and I just watched "The Office" for a bit then suddenly Katie said she was wet for some reason. The couch was dry but yes something was coming out. This all started at 7:30 pm. shortly after Katie started having actual contractions and we just didn't want to build things up if we were wrong so we left and went to subway and then to Katie's parents to watch the Jazz game! Katie's mom was there alone. We ate our Philly cheese-steak sandwich and while Katie was eating she suddenly freaked out saying she just felt a gush of liquid and she walked to the bathroom all funny and it made me laugh. Anyway I tried calling the doctor and the recorded message just said " If you think you are in labor or have had your water break go in to the labor and delivery" so that is what we did. We were admitted into a room and they started testing Katie and it was always negative for testing for amniotic fluid and they took her blood and did a pelvic exam. I was trying to stay calm, but I was freaking out inside. Finally the tests came positive for amniotic fluid and Katie was really suffering by then so we got her an epidural and now she is better. I feel relieved. I hate seeing her in so much pain. She has a catheter too and also she is dilated to a four now. anyway it is 1:40 am and time for some sleep. That way we have energy for what's to come.
