Boo at the Zoo

Because we have a Zoo season pass this year, we went to BOO at the ZOO. Ammon and I didn't dress up because it is easier to tote around a toddler in normal clothes and because we had already dressed up twice and would again on Halloween. Anyway, we got there and it was packed. It was hard to find parking but Ammon found a spot that wasn't necessarily a parking space but it wasn't in the way of anything. Josh and Jandi went early because Josh worked. It probably wasn't busy but it was freezing. I am glad it wasn't too cold by the time we got there around 11:30. It was fun to see all the costumes and hear people talk about Kael's. Most people knew who he was. It is nice to have people know and acknowledge a costume that you have made yourself. It Confirmed that he did look like Toothless the dragon. One lady walked by and thought Kael was a bat. I can see why. His wings are shaped like a bat and he is black. She probably had never heard of or seen the movie (she had all girls) One lady was excited to show her kids "look look there's toothless. Right there. That little boy is Toothless. That made me feel good when people got excited about his costume. Kael of course loved seeing the animals and getting candy was a bonus. There was a pretty long line once and I figured it must be something good. Well it was to see Miss Utah and other pageant girls with chocolate milk at the end. Anybody just walked up and grabbed the chocolate milk though. I do not care to see pageant queens. We saw the cow from chik-fil-a and got a free kids meal. The baby elephant was the most fun to see. He was so hyper and was playing with the tire. He was sitting on it, standing on it. He fell over and got back up and was just being so cute. We stayed there for a while watching him. Then we went to see Ammon's Mom and Aunt Rosa to show them Kael's costume. They were very happy to see Kael and of course loved his costume. Kael really warmed up to his Gma. He kept saying "brother" and because Ammon's Mom laughed Kael would say it again and laugh over and over. He loves the attention he gets at his Grandma's Ligia's house. Then we used Kael's free meal at chik-fil-a and went home. It was a good day!
