Bear Lake

This year my dad wanted to Bear Lake for his birthday. So we packed up and left Friday morning and were on our way. Ammon and I stopped about halfway to eat. Then I got a call from Kylie. Her and Jake were following my parents and Jaime and Cole were also right behind. They said they just got somewhere to eat. It happened to be in the same area that they stopped so they came over to Arby's, we all ate and then headed out again. We arrived and were so excited to see that our camp spot was right at the "beach". The water was so high that you didn't need to walk far to get to it. It made it so nice to be able to go back and forth from our campsite to the water. I found out that Kael LOVES SAND! He would play in the sand for the longest time without getting up. It was so cute! He also liked the water. We also found out that anytime we wanted him to take a nap, we could just get on the wave runner and go around a little bit and when we got back, he would be asleep. It was the cutest thing. I think he only didn't fall asleep once and that was because it was so windy that the water splashed up on us like crazy! The family had fun relaxing in the sun, making sand castles and sand turtles, digging holes, catching fish (with their hands) and wave running and canoeing. It was the first time using my dad's canoes and it was a lot of fun! My arms and abs would get a nice workout. :) We watched Rango on the projector on the beach. It was nice. We realized Kael likes that movie. He was laughing so much at the beginning part. The water started coming up higher and higher from the beach and we all had to get our stuff so we didn't finish the movie. This was the first time Kael slept in a tent. Last year we camped one night with Kael and it was in my parents trailer. I was so worried. What if he wasn't good? we planned on staying there 4 nights! Well after he finally fell asleep, he did wonderful. I know I didn't sleep the best because I was constantly worried about him. It was a little cold and Kael doesn't like blankets over his arms. we kept his jacket on but his little face would get cold but he slept so good. At home when he sleeps with us he moves around so much, it wakes us all up, but camping he didn't move around much. He would wake up so good too! It wasn't usually until I woke him up because I had to get up to go to the bathroom. There was a time I was wondering if Kael felt okay on the trip because he was so cuddly and didn't want to eat but I really wonder if he just was so tired from being in the sun all day. It was really hot and he wasn't used to it. He started acting normal again and he really did have a blast! He liked throwing rocks into the water, and seeing the seagulls come eat scraps of food. The hardest part was when we were at our campsite and Kael wanted to explore. He loved to look around but that meant someone had to go with him. He didn't ever really want to sit still. Only when he was playing in the sand! I love my little explorer though! We had cake and ice cream on my dad's birthday. It was yummy! The next night we watched Bolt and had some yummy hot chocolate.

While we were camping, we found out D'lene, Ammon's sister had her baby boy. She lives in Tremonton and that is a 2 hour drive from our place so we decided that on our way home, we would go the Logan way and see her baby Korbin. He was very cute. Kael was interested in him. He sat next to me while I held him. Kael is going to be a good big brother! Anyway, we had a blast camping and it didn't stop there. We went to see Captain America on our way home. We brought Kael to Ammon's moms. It was the first time we left him there and he was not happy about it. He doesn't see her enough and I never leave Kael. He is spoiled and mommy is always with him. He cried for about 10 mins (I cried the whole way to the theater) but they put on How to Train Your Dragon and Despicable Me for him. He watched both of them and didn't get up once. He was so terrified he couldn't move. When I went to pick him up, he saw me and started crying again like "mommy... you left me. that wasn't nice. don't do it again." It broke my heart. I know it will get better but it was so hard and unfair of us to leave him when he had such a long drive and we couldn't stay there a little bit beforehand. I am thankful they did watch him though. The movie was good.
