On Christmas Eve we packed up all our stuff to spend the night at my parents. We brought so much stuff. We wanted to have everything for Kael just in case. We had to pack all the gifts and everything. Ammon took many trips to get it all in the car. Then we went to my moms and hung out. Everyone was there except Cole (he got there later!). My mom, dad, grandpa, Josh, Jandi, Ashby, Jaime, Sydney, Grady, Kylie and Jake. We had a thanksgiving type meal. It was yummy! I ate so much! Josh and I tried to get everything ready for the nativity program. I got random stuff for costumes and we just did it. Kale was baby Jesus, Sydney was Mary, Ammon was Joseph, Cole was a donkey, Grady was a sheep, Ashby was a cow, I was a bird, and Kylie and Jake were wise men. it was funny and cute! Kael was so vocal and just having fun hanging out in his "manger" Ashby was eating marshmallows on the floor and Grady forgot to go and give the baby his wool for a blanket. Then Josh read from the scriptures and also read my Grandma Ashby's testimony. She gave us a little scrap book thing where she wrote out her testimony for us to keep! It made us all start to cry and I saw my Grandpa actually need to take his glasses off and wipe his eyes. It was cool!
Then we let the kids open presents from their cousins and we opened up our pajama presents! The boys loved Kael's gift. Kael didn't get to see it much! :D
Then we watched Christmas Vacation and tried to get Kael to sleep. He was having none of it. Put in a play yard in a room he is not used to... HA! no! So I ended up on the twin bed with Kael and Ammon was on the floor. Ammon may have head it better though. Kael was in the middle of the bed. At first he was laying on my arm but the I had to move it. He slept pretty much the rest of the night not moving much but I woke up with every sound or movement he made. I didn't want to suffocate him. I don't think I had to worry though. I was very conscious of him being next to me. it was a rough night and we were woken up at 7:30. Kael usually went to bed at 8:30 and would sleep 11 to 12 hours but this night he didn't get to bed until midnight and woke up very early. This made for a very tired baby the rest of the day. He was not whiny, just exhausted! We opened presents. My mom spoiled all of us!
Kael even got to open a present from my Grandma Ashby. It was a huge stocking she made full of lots of toys! She did a lot! She always does Christmas ahead of time and she had all her great-grandchildren done. She had a lot of her granchildren done but unfortunately they didn't have any names so no one got any. The unfortunate thing is that she was making afghans and quilts for us. I would have loved more blankets made by her. They are so special to me! But I do have some so that is good. It was cool to still have Kael receive a gift from her even though she wasn't with us this year!Then they played a little with what we got and then we brought everything home and got ready to go to Ammon's Grandma's. His Dad and Nadia were there. We chatted a bit and exchanged gifts. We didn't stay long because we wanted to make it to Orem to see my Grandma and Grandpa Carter and then to visit my Grandma Ashby's grave and give her a little Christmas tree. Afterwards, we went to Ammon's Moms to visit. Kael Cried when he saw her boyfriend Tim. He was so nervous around him for some reason. Just a guy he doesn't really know. He kept staring at him making sure he didn't move too fast! :D Then we went home and got some much needed rest! It was a busy but fun few days!
